In this part of the world, MIT stands for “Made in Taiwan.” Today I just learned (via Jason at Wandering to Tamshui) that one of Taiwan’s number one exports is SPAM.
I really like the title of Jason’s post. If you don’t get it, watch this.
Actually, it isn’t clear if the Taiwanese are actually writing the SPAM, or just helping (wittingly or unwittingly) to distribute it. I suspect the latter is the case.

Hey Kerim,
From what I read in subsequent articles, it looks like most of the spam is originating across the strait and routing itself through Taiwanese servers. Don’t know if the Taiwanese are active partners, but considering all the other shady stuff Taiwanese businesses are known for, I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s actually the case.
