Vanity
Vanity is having a dashboard widget (Mac OS X only) for all of your own web feeds. I doubt anyone out there, except perhaps my mother, will want to install this, but I had some fun making it so I thought I’d share it anyway.
It was very simple actually. I used Dashcode to make a widget that displays my Yahoo Pipes feed (RSS), with some help from this tutorial.
Currently the feed collects my Savage Minds and Keywords posts, as well as my Flickr photostream, and links to comments I’ve made on other blogs. As I add new feeds (Twitter?) to the pipe, the widget will be automatically updated.
I could see this being very useful if one was teaching a class or running a project where you wanted everyone to be reading a bunch of related feeds.
If you enjoyed this post, please consider to leave a comment or subscribe to the feed and get future articles delivered to your feed reader.

Yes, this is one of my goals as well! But what counts as “interesting” depends a lot on your interests! Currently I mostly read blogs by my friends, like Zonble, Ilya, and Little Pinapple. I’ve been too busy to really get into the Taiwanese blogsphere in greater depth, but it is one of my goals for this year, so let me know if you find anything!
John, if you look on my blog’s sidebar, about 7/8 of the way down you’ll find a link to the top 100 Taiwan blogs. I suspect some of them are actually interesting.
Michael

Hey Kerim. Do you know of any interesting blogs that are fairly regular (at least weekly posts) that are in traditional chinese? I’m trying to beef up my reading skills and figured it might be a good way to get some experience reading more casual writing styles (i.e. a bit closer to spoken chinese in written form).
