A long overdue complete overhaul of my homepage. I think the new version is cleaner and easier to navigate, while at the same time actually containing more dynamic content. I also try to do a better job of advertising my other projects, such as Savage Minds and the film. Altogether I’m fairly pleased with the result, but please let me know what you think! I’m especially interested to hear from people using windows and older browsers. (Note: I broke all the download links to my documents. Hopefully I’ll be able to fix that soon.)

A big shout-out to Derek Punsalan whose designs were the inspiration for finally updating the site, as well as to the many wordpress widget and plugin developers whose work I used: Joost De Valk, Chris Carson, Ben Coleman, Adam Brown, Trevor Turk (with Gunnar Tillmann ), and Alex King. Alex King also deserves credit for leading the way with SVN updates for Wordpress, although it was Eric Cheng who linked to a page which finally explained it in a way that I could understand.

UPDATE: Following my homepage redesign, I’ve updated this blog as well. Now both sites sport a unified navigation bar across the top. I also widened the header, moved the photo widget, and cleaned up the sidebar.

UPDATE: I’ve created an annotated version of the front page showing which plugins and tools I used for which parts of the site.

Pretty nice! A lot of information from different sources on a single page. Kind of like a homepage version of a mashup.

I like the photos in the header — I’m assuming a stream from Flickr? Good idea…

Yes, that’s my flickr stream. I used to have it just below the header, but since my home page header is so big, I thought this would match better.
