As fractured as American democracy is, at least the process allows us to force our government to confront its mistakes, as is now happening with the 9-11 Commission. Unfortunately, there is no such similar process by which the people of Argentina can force the I.M.F. to do the same.
Then she [Anne Krueger, the acting managing director of the IMF] revealed that some IMF staff had written letters about their fears for Argentina.
