I’ve long been a proponent of what Billmon calls “small-d” Democratic organizations. He has an eloquent discussion of why you should support organizations like MoveOn instead of giving directly to Kerry or the DNC.
An interesting discussion follows his post. I particularly like the succinct way Slothrop puts it:
You can have my money, but you’ll have to go through my agent, MoveOn.org, to get it.
If you don’t have money to give, volunteer.
